What DVI and VGA Stand For
The use of acronyms is a common habit among hardware engineers and computer programmers. DVI stands for digital video interface and is the newer of the two technologies. VGA stands for video graphics array. It was developed, by IBM in 1987. Third party vendors expanded the technology beyond its original specifications after IBM announced it. The new standard that allowed for higher resolution were called Super VGA.
